- The OPTαGEL is specified for a very wide temperature range of -40 to +120°C and therefore also covers the temperature range of components that have been developed for extremely rugged applications. The Mitsubishi displays of the AT series, for example, are suitable for an operating temperature range of -40 to + 85°C, which the acrylates with their temperature range of -30 to + 80°C cannot cover completely, in contrast to the OPTαGEL.
- Acrylates are prone to medium-term yellowing and thus affect the appearance of the high-quality bonded unit. The OPTαGEL does not yellow and remains clear in the long term.
- Once cured, the acrylate-bonded components can no longer be separated without destroying them. If a failure occurs, the entire unit is waste. The VacuBond® Optical Bonding process is reversible and the high-quality components such as display and touch screen can be repaired or replaced individually if required.
Since we only optically bond for industrial applications with high demands on long-term quality, we cannot use the cheaper polyacrylate / acrylic material despite the cost savings for the mentioned reasons.
The approach of using only the high-performance silicone OPTαGEL developed by Taica for optical bonding is confirmed by each additional certification.
